Got a nice haul from Chad on a work trip to Reno, including my first Slice beers (save for a collab with Pure Project). This collab with Humble Sea was described on Untappd as, “Hazy Double IPA collaboration with Humble Sea Brewing. Galaxy, Sabro, Citra, and Simcoe hops create saturated flavors and aromas of tangerine rind, pink starburst, coconut sorbet, peach skin, and passion fruit.” That’s a great hop combo.
Poured a pale-to-golden hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Fairly calm setting underneath the head. World-class spiderweb foamy lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Got Sabro immediately in the smell, one of my top new hops. Also strawberry, pink Starburst, coconut, vanilla, peach, Galaxy, Citra, passion fruit, grapefruit, papaya, green vegetable and Simcoe. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted even better than the nose. Got big Sabro, strawberry, pink Starburst, wood, coconut, vanilla, peach, Galaxy, passion fruit, papaya, Citra, grapefruit, Simcoe and green vegetable. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just a world-class beer. Loved it. (Overall - 4.50)
