Thanks, Chad!
Got a nice haul from Chad on a work trip to Reno, including my first Slice beers (save for a collab with Pure Project). Was described on Untappd as, “100% Simcoe hops deliver saturated flavors and aromas candied peaches, evergreen, berry medley, apricot sorbet, and star fruit.” Sweet.
Poured a golden hazy color with two fingers of frothy white head. Just a few bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass. Excellent spotty lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled Simcoe, diced peaches, papaya, peach blossom, stone fruit, mixed berry, Starburst candy and pine. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted a little better than the nose. Was interested to see this in a hazy IPA compared to the more traditional West Coast IPA. Wasn’t getting the normal garlic and onion that I usually get. Got Simcoe, diced peaches, stone fruit, mixed berry, papaya, mixed Starburst candy, pine and hints of pepper. (Taste - 4.00)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long smooth finish. (Feel - 4.50)
A very unique beer to me in that it was an all Simcoe-hopped hazy IPA. I for sure prefer the West Coast Simcoe beers, but this was excellent. (Overall - 4.25)
