A: Pours up a hazy, yellow leaning straw gold with a frothy, airy two-finger white white head.
S: Immediate Brettanomyces notes, bubblegum, and citrus, specifically lemon and bit of tartness. There are also some slight grassy notes as well.
T: Round and sweet, follows the nose but in a more subdued presentation. Tart, but nowhere near sour, with a touch of indistinct bitterness in the finish. Again, citrus, leaning lemon.
M: Decently effervescent but a bit more full bodied than I think it ought to be.
O: Definitely nothing special, but a solid execution. If you like your farmhouse ales bretty you will enjoy this.

Appearance: Light golden body and extremely effervescent, continually feeding a sudsy white stack of foam.
Smell: Humble loaf bread innards, a thin glaze of honey or treacle. Light stone fruit, apple blossoms. Restrained funkiness, a light vinous quality and some subtle citrus.
Taste: A blush of honeycomb, a bit of soft, mild breadiness. Peach-apple orchard fruitiness, light florals, brief touch of tangelo, a sip of white wine and a good funkiness underneathe. As you pour further from the bottle, stirring up yeasty beasties and earthy element from the bottom, things take a creamier tone and the initial clear gold turns a little ruddy, akin to a contemporary IPA, even gathering some faint, curious fruity hints of pureed guava and cantaloupe.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Highly carbonated. Spritely, even gassy.
Overall: Fiets is a wonderful, standout beverage. A veritable oasis in a world of perfunctory kettle sours, oozing pastry stouts and ho-hum IPAs.
