Mavy is a bier that holds a candle with a nice foam on top. We have a nice formula for making this bier. Brewed with saaz hops, a variety of roasted and un-roasted bohemian malt, bohemian yeast, Atlanta soft water, and lagered for a long period. With proteins and alpha acids holding all the foam together that is capable of changing the world.
We like it a lot; tmavý ležák but we call it Mavy. you'll like it! maybe you'll like it a lot cheers!

Had on lukr. Brownish black opaque body, full khaki head. Roasted malts with cocoa, earth, dried dark fruit, dark nut, burnt toast, and coffee bean in the nose. Taste is just as complex, the malt and yeast interact to really push the roast, cocoa, coffee and charred earth to the spotlight. Smooth, full, complex swirling yeast and malt in the mouthfeel

No canning date (released on 1/16/23); consumed on 4/5/23
Pours a stark chestnut-brown body sporting slight ruby-hued accents and topped with over two fingers of creamy, beige foam; good head retention leaves ¾ of a finger of rich cap, a large, frothy collar, and chunky rings of fuzzy, soapy lacing coating the walls of the glass.
Aromas of malted smoke open to sweet cocoa undertones, with subtle minerality phasing to brown toast and a quiet roast through the close.
Taste brings minerality, bread crust, and a clean yeast profile upfront, steadily developing notes of cocoa husk and fresh coffee through the mid-palate as tinges of smoke are interspersed across the back end of the profile.
Mouthfeel shows a light body and a choppy fluff of moderate-high carbonation, dispersing a calm roast tingling over a clean dryness progressing past the mid-palate, and leaving an ultimately clean, crisp finish.
Light yet impactful, this Czech Dark is a compact expression of a focused malt profile at the intersection of sweet and roasty united in a simple yet immensely quaffable display.

Appearance: Clear dark brown. Khaki colored mousse-like head with good retention.
Aroma: roast malt, nutty, earthy.
Flavor & Aftertaste: Mild roasted malt and toasted bread, nutty, and spicy. Low to moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, creamy, drying. Medium length finish.
Overall: Good Czech style dark lager. Pours to a mousse-like head with good retention. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Complex malt backbone reminiscent of Schwarzbier with bread toast, light roasted malt and nutty notes. Well balanced between semi-sweetness and bitterness lending to a drying finish. Seems a little over carbonated. Clean lager profile. Hops are spicy. Well crafted.

An incredibly solid dark lager. Great head that lasted all the way to the bottom with a thin break. Full-nose. Taste was creamy, rich, roasted-grain malt. Well-balanced with nice hop/bitter finish.
