Look: Nice Amber about a SRM of 7 beginning to turn orange in the right lite... Nice protein structure leaves a larger than average head which persists in a small bubble foam about the glass.
Smell: subtle malt with a whiff of caramel and a slight crisp apple honey
Taste: malt and a crisp apple sweetness maybe even a little stone fruit I'd say apricot as it lingers; bitterness is way in the background and makes it seem a little sweet but I don't mind.. I like the taste a lot
Mouthfeel :delicious
Overall: well above average...
I'm going to revisit this one

A very tasty and refreshing amber ale. For a beer I found at my local gas station, this one is pretty good, and a beer I've come back to more than once. Although it's nothing special, this is a solid beer that won't disappoint in any category.

For a 4-year old, this is a pretty good ale. Balanced. Refreshing (even in summer.) Comforting. But not in my table ale stable.
This probably will be my only Duesterbeck because I'm a declared Belgo-phile and they are not (that's OK, I'm open-minded.)
So, let me give them their micro-review which is their due. I really like their story in that it touches my heart. (5th generation keeps the family farm and totally rebuilds the barn and support buildings; trying to make a play for the tourists 5 miles away at Lake Delavan... good business strategy.) It touches me not because I am crazy enough to start a brewery but because I, too, am a fifth generation farmowner and I tried to repurpose the farm and decided it was way too much work for me.
Had it not been for today's semi-annual visit to Kenosha's Woodman's grocery/liqour store, I would not have connected with Duesterbeck's. Yet, we have. And they are testament that it is easier in this country to follow your dreams (and Wisconsin is probably the best place to follow your dreams of becoming a brewer), but the product matters most and... this is a pretty good brew from a 4 year old. Prost !
7/15/23 Had a second can, but probably will give away the remaining two of the 4-pack. Good, but I'm looking for great.

I'm trying this beer at the brewery. It poured a clear copper with thin white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had faint malt notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with subtle malt base and a bold slightly bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.
