Poured a light amber colour with a nice white head.

The smell is all about the citrus hops, grapefruit, lemons and oranges. About as fruity smelling a beer as I have smelled.

The taste was similar to smell, the hops tasted so fresh and flavourful. Delicious and refreshing.

The mouthfeel was Medium bodied with medium carbonation.

Overall a great beer my favorite from Kona, if they bottled this and sent it to the east coast I'd definitely buy again. Also the relatively low abv means you can have a few.

A glass of the current seasonal at the Kailua-Kona brewpub. Made with Alchemy, Galaxy, and Citra hops - and dry hopped with Citra. Also, this is named for a Kona brewer's new offspring, and not as a nod to appeasing those IPA fanatics (guilty) out there.

This beer appears a clear, glassy pale golden amber hue, with one fat finger of densely foamy off-white head, which leaves some broad grotto-like lace around the glass as it evenly settles.

It smells of mild grainy, faintly caramelized malt, softly fruity grapefruit and orange pith, and some subtle pine needle astringency The taste is moderately bitter generic citrus hops, a middling leafy, herbal sidestep, and understated grainy, bready malt.

The bubbles are a wee bit peppy, the body an adequate medium weight, and more or less smooth. It finishes more hoppy than malty, as is the brewer's intent here, but it's all on a sliding scale, pointed down.

This was touted as a hoppier version of the Castaway, but that's all relative, making this a step better than average, and sadly, nothing more.
