Nutty as befitting a Vienna Lager, but excessively thin and watery. Lacks flavor and substance, watery. Not really drinkable, but could do in a pinch if needed.

a really flavorful amber lager on the darker end of the spectrum for sure, looks deeper than amber, past vienna to me, or most of them anyway, just short of brown honestly, nice clarity on it, and a big frothy tan head from the can, the packing these guys are putting out looks sharp. pretty beer in the glass, i like a darker lager in this category this time of year, but its drinkability remains high despite the richer color. almost looks more like a doppelbock. aroma of toasted chestnuts, earthy and sweet malts together, toasted and kilned, walnut too, raisin and even rum, but its only sweet got a second to me, and thats true in the flavor too, some light cola character here interestingly enough, and some flavor from the lager yeast as well, a little european thing going on there, no much hops happening here, but this has plenty going on even without them. its smooth and sort of toasted, light cocoa and honey notes in here, more raisin, fig too, and just a little finishing sweetness. good depth of flavor, fuller bodied and mellow to drink, great cold weather lager, i really liked this. a style that doesnt get enough attention from american brewers, nice robust take on it here.
