Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium to dark bronze amber with a two finger cream colored head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of grainy biscuit malt, apple juice and a little caramel. Flavor is grainy biscuit malt, raisins, light caramel, apples and graham cracker. Semi dry finish with lingering apple and biscuit as well as light grassy hops. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. An interesting and unique lager from a self-professed experimental brewery. The flavor is all over the place; the choice of style here, bock, certainly fits the color and look as well as the maltiness, but there is graininess and fruit flavor that make the taste profile and especially the aftertaste more like a beefed-up Marzen than a bock. Oddly, the one style it does not resemble is a dubbel, which is in the name on the can. Definitely style breaking, but flavorful and quite appealing. I'm impressed and would like to try more from this brewery.
