awesome beer here, although better to me on tap than from the can, using locally grown vista hops, something a little different on the palate here, and real high saturation point on the hops, so many of these seemed subtle to me this year, but this one is anything but. unfiltered looking, pretty pale but with some orange to it, high headed from the tap, a little less refined looking from the cans, hazier, less head retention. the nose is super fresh, the hops are botanical and vegetal but also carry notes of white coconut and lychee, meyer lemon and green pinecone, mowed lawn freshness. there is some starchy pale grain at the core of this and just a touch of malt sweetness rounding it out, high oils to the hops, lightly peppery too as it sits, verdant and juicy, and much of this comes through in the flavor too, particularly the little tropical nuance behind greener notes of melon rind, cut pine, and matcha tea. there is some bitterness that i like in here, some good malt balance, off dry. the draft has subtle honey and even vanilla supporting and rounding out the herbal side of the hops, while the cans feel a little disjointed to me. nice beer overall though, i dont think vista is a world beater necessarily, but this is a neat showcase of it in fresh form, and in a world where everyone in the northwest seems to be using the same stuff, this is definitely unique. by all means makes some really solid stuff too, always good to dip into their beer. bonus, my travel bag will smell like this for awhile, after one of the four pint cans exploded in my checked bag, cant say i really mind...

Many thx to muchloveforhops3 for this can!
A - Medium gold pour with nice clarity and thin (but dense) lacing. Carbonation is very light.
S - Nice West Coast Style nose with juicy orange and grapefruit citrus.
T - The exact same on the palate with juicy citrus, orange, and red grapefruit while finishing with a slight nod towards the bitter side with a little bit of piney bitterness.
M - Medium body with prickly carbonation.
O - This is really enjoyable. Recommended.
