Pours a ruddy auburn/chestnut with a thumb+ of tan head. Stays fairly murky, minimal head retention & lacing
S: Red wine barrels, apple pie spices figs, best part of this beer
T: Follows the nose, some cherry notes, a touch of caramel, leafy hops & dryness up front. More apple pie spices, red wine, cherries & leafy hops, plus dryness once warmed up. Finishes oaky dry with cherry tobacco, & apple pie
MF: Medium body, subtle carbonation
As with most barrel aged German Style beers, this is a head scratcher. Drinks alright, but not real impressed with it
