i dont always need a brewery to take itself too seriously, but when you name a beer banana hammock, maybe you arent taking it quite seriously enough. i dont know, why call this that? its not real banana forward from the yeast in a hefeweizen sense or anything, and it just seems to be more of attempt to be cheeky than anything else, more focus on the beer itself would be good. the belgian yeast is estery and samey, but fine here, with some green pear, green grape, and green apple notes, its almost got an under ripe thing to it, with a little simple honey sweetness from the grain and some light white pepper in the yeast profile as well, maybe a banana suggestion if i look for it, but its not a leader of this at all to me, which makes the name seem even weirder. i get some light citrus, a little earthy character to the grain that keeps this grounded, and maybe subtle saffron or something floral and sort of tea-like in here. its got a little pop of hops at the end but not much bitterness at all, smooth in feel even with the light phenols in here, and pretty well carbonated. not bad overall, a little generic on the yeast side for me, but a fine belgian beer for those unfamiliar with this sort of thing.
