At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From Erie St. Gastropub's bottle shop in nearby downtown Windsor. Canned February 8/25. My 6th beer from the Ayr, Ontario brewery, and for 2025. Exceedingly embraced by Sundae the cat...

473 mL can from the LCBO; no canning date and served slightly chilled. This batch includes Nelson Sauvin & Cascade hops, but swaps out Waimea for Motueka.
Pours a foggy golden blonde colour, fitted with one finger of foamy white head that seeps away within a few minutes. A frothy collar and a sudsy, filmy cap live on, with gobs of lovely lace produced after each sip. Understated aroma of lemon & orange peels, with grainy malts, floral hops and a vinous, white grape-like note adding further depth.
It's an excellent NEPA-esque pale ale with an enjoyable hop profile. Gritty, grainy pale malt and white bread sweetness underlie a smorgasbord of citrusy hop flavours - lemon zest, lime juice, orange and grapefruit are all accounted for. Vinous, white wine-like notes develop later on, with floral, earthy hops, grapefruit pith and grape skin supplying some bitterness late in the sip; the aftertaste trends bone dry, and I love it. Light in body, with moderately assertive carbonation that adds a gentle bite to this brew's smooth mouthfeel. Superb drinkability; this one has real session potential.
Final Grade: 4.09, an A-. I was thoroughly satisfied with Willibald's Lazer Land, and I encourage other BAs to seek out and try it for their own benefit. Admittedly, its citrus-heavy flavour profile is after my own heart - I can admit that I'm a little biased, being a fan of most NZ hop varieties, but I genuinely believe that this matches up with, and may even surpass, some of my go-to APAs. It's a virtual guarantee that I'll be buying this again in the future, hopefully sooner rather than later.
