A: Pours a pale yellow color. A one finger white head forms, and recedes rather quickly. Just a spot of lace left behind.
S: Phenolic and ester like bubble gum aromas, and hard candy. Not particularly impressed with the nose.
T: Oh, that bubble gum again. Mixed with sour and hard candy. Kind of like watermelon jolly ranchers. This becomes sickly sweet after a while. Then, out of nowhere, a lingering cooked corn and cereal grain flavor in the finish. Kind of like DMS almost.
M/O: A medium body with moderate carbonation. This becomes resin/sugary and sticky after a while. It became a chore to drink, and not something I wanted to finish.
I keep trying New Magnolia's Saisons, and I keep being let down. I can see they wanted to play with the idea of the plastic like phenols and esters that can also give off a bubble gum kind of character. Though, it just became like liquid candy after a while. Not something I would recommend and I'm probably done trying their Saisons for now.
