Collaboration with Alementary Brewing Company

When we approached our friends at Alementary, we wanted to do a beer we haven't done before. We decided on an English Bitter; low in ABV, nice malt backbone and some good bittering hops. We figured let's then dry hop it with some Mosaic and Amarillo because... why not?!

Canned on 8/23/2021. Poured into an English pint glass. It pours a cloudy, dusty, rosy-orange color with almost a finger of creamy, egg white head and lacing. The smell features an intriguing blend of malty caramel and fresh lemon and grapefruit. The nose presages the taste. It's surprisingly citrus-forward and bitter with the caramel malt in the background, although as it warms the tastes seem to flip with more caramel sweetness. The mouth feel is moderately thick and creamy with appropriate carbonation and it's very drinkable at 4.5% ABV. Overall, Black Market Bitter is a very American take on an English staple. The Mosaic and Amarillo hops take it to an entirely different level.
