Collaboration with Twin Elephant Brewing Company
When we collaborate with Twin Elephant, things get interesting! We took our stout recipe, made it "elephant" sized and fermented it on Dark Cacao nibs, peanut butter and graham cracker. We squeezed this 12% into a 16 oz. can. Brewed with Maris Otter, dark chocolate, roasted barley and Blackprinz malts.

Canned on 8/23/2021; reviewed on release date. Poured into a snulip glass at 64°. It pours ink black. The medium-mocha head fizzled out quickly which is disappointing since it's not a BA Stout. The nose provides some redemption: it's heavy on peanut butter, along with cocoa and freshly-brewed coffee. The taste follows the nose; there is peanut butter up front, along with graham cracker, cocoa, coffee, and a touch of earthy char. As it breathes there is the slightest hint of black cherry. There is modest bitterness at the finish. The mouth feel is moderately chewy with lite carbonation. At 10% ABV it should be sipped slowly. Overall, this collaboration is fine but not as good as the best stouts produced by either brewer.
