Taster at brewery. Medium, hazy golden pour, small creamy head. Light grainy aroma blossoms into a full hoppy flavor profile, smooth. Creamy, slick, dry.

a solid but basic ipa, well made but a little safe to me, and on the whole i am looking forward to some more ambitious beers in this place, seems odd to get all fired up to make beer only to produce something so generic, but i get the desire to get the system dialed in and make crowd pleasers to start, so i cant be too critical, just looking for a little more innovation in here. this is brassy colored, lively headed, and pretty well refined beer. it has a very clean fermentation, which suggests some competence in the brew house, the recipe just feels a bit samey to me, a relatively unexciting citrus hop complexion, mild bitterness, and simple pale barley malt at the base, no appreciable wrinkles or points of differentiation here, this could have come from anywhere. that said, its clean and fresh and drinkable, with nice carbonation and a pleasant light leafy greenness and some minerals to it, an easy beer with their delicious food in here too. almost in the pale ale range in terms of balance. ill look for something a little more exciting in here next time, but its encouraging that the quality is good this early in their journey...
