I do not like AIPAs. But I very much like P-Train. (As a malt-head, this is only my 10th AIPA in the last 22 months... what other Poo-bah can make that claim?)
First of all, let me explain my huge OA Hugs for P-Train. this traces back to a BA post by our Founder some 14 months ago about the dearth of African-American brewers and why we should encourage their participation in this great American revolution, largely played out in the 21st Century (admittedly, I interpret a bit.) After reviewing their website, Cajun Fire is something to celebrate.
Never to join the ranks of the hop-heads, how can I say great things after tasting only one ale from a micro-brewer? Because P-Train is soulful, subtly fiery and knows the purpose of hops. While Cajun Fire seems to have a few business ups 'n downs (per my review of UnTappd stats), they are to be encouraged.
I note that I bought this at the garden market in Sawyer, southeast Michigan mostly for Chicagoans getting away. How a Michigan distributor got a Louisiana micro-micro into a small-town store, I will never know. But, I'm glad everyone made the effort.
Cajun Fire knows they have produced a great AIPA. I don't need to analyze why. But, I will defend every word above if someone disagrees.

$3.75 USD plus tax for a single 16 fl oz pull-tab can at Trader Joe's, Metairie, Louisiana.
Served cold into a stemless wine glass.
6.75% ABV. "India Pale Ale brewed with Raspberry Puree."
Raspberries. Lactose sugar. Fruit juice. Floral hop flavour. 2-row. Pilsner malt.
Rather underwhelming fare, but it delivers on its (admittedly shoddy) premise. Yes, it evokes raspberries, and yes, it's somewhat hoppy. Beyond that, there ain't much here, and its hop profile is pretty mediocre.
