Human Attention is Sacred is a 5.1% ABV mixed culture saison made with hibiscus, cinnamon, and ginger salt. This beer has prominent aromas of ruby red grapefruit, wild strawberry, and ocean-spray wet rocks. The palate presents with flavors of tangerine rind, white peach, sumac, and pink peppercorn, while soft notes of Ceylon cinnamon and tropical ginger linger in the background. Gentle acidity and mild bitterness carry through a medium body and a briny, slate-like minerality due to the small addition of salt. The beer melds elements of a Loire Valley rosé with a Caribbean sorrel wine, and is about as carefree as a fruit cup.
We live in a world of sensory cacophony—bombarded by intrusive ads and external messaging; often times it feels that our attention is held hostage. I wanted this beer, its name, and the label artwork to offer a reminder that it doesn't have to be this way. We can create and share things in a manner that is perhaps a bit softer and less forceful. We can create in a way that doesn't trespass on the sacred space of each other's hearts, minds, and attention. (Many thanks to KT artist Jessica Deahl @jdeahl for polishing up my art for this label.)
