The Earth is What We All Have in Common is a 7.1% ABV Bière de Garde made with Roasted Chestnuts, Dried Oranges, and Rosemary. Roasted chestnuts were added to the mash atop a bed of @sugarcreekmaltco Pilsner, Wheat, Rye, and Munich malts. The nose offers notes of honeyed wheat and toasted rye overlaid with bright aromas of tart cherry, blood orange, and overripe strawberry. Subtle hints of cinnamon, toasted nuts, and resinous poblano linger in the background. The beer presents with a bright lemony acidity in the front of the palate, and the flavor evolves from notes of zippy fresh citrus to dried apricot depth and finally into baked red apple richness. The bitterness is delicate and tea-like, the body is medium to medium-full with a soft and creamy carbonation. A quick and dry finish contributes to the beer's drinkability, making it a versatile and really lovely pairing companion for many different dishes.

A note from KT Artist Jessica Deahl @jdeahl — "This label was a lot of fun to draw. Moving in the general direction of “raw, organic, earth” I created an overgrowth of lichens and swirly earthy mushroom textures. It’s meant to be both dry and lush, a little world allowed to exist and flourish without human intervention."

Clear orange/copper colored body with a full 2" head of fluffy white bubbles recedes to a persistent 1/8" cap of foam with sheets of lacing appearing as mountains on the ring.

Aroma is as advertised, and difficult to make it more clear than the brewer herself, and I appreciate the strawberry and poblano notes.

Taste also matches the notes with the full expression of fruits and a nutty, earthy flavor comes with warmth. I would prefer to write my own tasting notes, and often eschew others where it is clearly just regurgitated from the ingredients, but in this case, for me, it really does match as described.

Very soft, fuller medium mouthfeel and a drying finish that avoids any cloying stickiness.

Overall a very good experience and a perfect match for my walnut crusted salmon.

750 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Had 9/25/21.

Pours a cloudy orange amber, with a two inch plus foamy head with good retention and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of orange, rye, lemon, apples, light caramel and rosemary. Has somewhat of a funky and herbal aroma. Flavors of orange, rye, malt, lemon, apples, light rosemary. Tastes herbal, spicy, nutty, slightly bitter. Smooth, somewhat dry, a very good medium body, appropriately carbonated.

Speaking of somewhat dry, my review does not do justice to how creative, complex, delicate and subtle this beer really is. For me, the orange and rye really stand out, but many inviting aromas and flavors. Really enjoyable.

Fluffiest Biere de Garde that I have ever had. Pretty unique. It's like a lightly tart imperial saison crossed with a brandy old fashion sweet.

Deep saturated russet tone, slight haze with golden highlights. Ample foam, lasting head and chunky lacing around the glass. Audible foam crackles when the beer is gently swirled. Aroma is slightly musty, evidence of wild bacteria. A pleasant dried citrus and herbaceous quality comes out as well. Mild forest floor funk suggested by the label art also can't be ignored.

Savory and citrusy with mild acidity. Tangy orange peel and a judicious use of savory rosemary makes for a winning combo. Malty, tart, medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. This is one of the most unique and wild Bière de Gardes i've ever had. It brings to mind JP Bière de Mars, but with a wholly unique twist. Keeping Together also out-Scratches Scratch Brewing with this one. Foresty, funky, and incredibly unique. A fascinating beer with such a creative plan & execution.

Very much food-friendly, a cheese plate is a mandatory pairing.
