Dreaming of a Common Language is a 6.7% ABV saison dry-hopped with Hallertau Tradition, Tettnanger, and Saaz Hops. Despite the abundance of old world hops, the fermentation character of this beer is the star of the show, presenting with loads of citrus and tropical fruit character. Aromas of tangerine, key lime zest, and ripe pineapple are front and center while soft lily-like floral notes and hints of vanilla and coconut linger in the background. On the palate, flavors of fresh-squeezed orange juice, sweet nectarine flesh, and pineapple upside-down cake lead the charge followed by notes of white tea, lemongrass, and pink peppercorn. Bitterness and acidity are balanced and light in intensity, with a medium-light body and softly-scrubbing carbonation.
A note from KT Artist Jessica Deahl @jdeahl — "For this label we took inspiration from topography and a sense of place and space. It portrays the calm intersection of human and land, embracing the possibility of the unknown."

750 ml bottle into a tulip glass. Had 4/6/23.
Pours a bright, hazy yellow, with a one and a half inch foamy head and a decent amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of yeast, wheat, peppercorn, mint, some dill, faint vanilla. Smells of some funk and light herbal hops. Flavors of yeast, lemon, white pepper, malt, some funk, some dill and mint, light white wine. Tastes grassy and there’s some light herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Smooth, dry, a solid lighter body, well carbonated.
Another exquisite effort. It’s really a pretty classic Saison, but there’s all these aromas and flavors you don’t pick out in one of the classics. The hops are a great addition. I always find KT’s beers hard to dissect and put in to words, but they’re always a great pleasure to drink.

Had on tap. Murky yellow body, white cap that fades quickly. Well hopped saison nose with lemon, honey, flowers and mild yeast. Taste is much the same but now the lemon has lighter lime and orange on board, yeast has the botanical hops bonding well with it. Feel is light, hoppier, soft and dry, with a kiss of sourness

probably the simplest of the keeping together beers i got to drink, built kind of like a pils to me, simple crackery grain profile, noble hop dry hopping, and a sort of less is more approach to the whole thing, but its the ferment that defines it, much like their others, and without any fruit or curious ingredients, it really stands out here, not quite along because this is hoppy for a saison, but the yeasts are on full display, and its wonderful, super drinkable too, less tart than their others i had. golden yellow in the glass from the tap under an inch of tightly packed white bubbles, almost clear, looks glowing and light and awesome. the nose and taste here are bretty and spicy at the same time, through the dry european grain base i get white pepper, dried dill and its seeds, hay and straw, paper pulp, new oak, summery white wine, earthy minerality, wet grassiness, and a bread yeast thing too, lemony tang is subtle, funk is high, there is both maturity and freshness to this, and it seems expertly refined. light nuances of lemongrass, green pear, and coriander, neat esters wiggling through the funkiness, snappy dry, clean for being wild, this is quietly real unique. keeping together is climbing the charts quick for me, i have been super impressed across the board so far, i could drink this beer every single day for the rest of my life...

Had this on draft @ Half Acre on 7/3/22.
Cloudy orange/yellow appearance.
Nice white head; minimal lace.
Lemon, mild soap & faint well-preserved book notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Tart lemon, key lime & mild fresh soap flavors.
A citrus blast that's pleasant, if a bit biting.

Result of a very gentle pour was a bright, translucent yellow beer with half a finger of fizzy, short-lived white head. Aroma is clementine, Fruit Stripe gum, and a nice earthy funk. The taste is even more tropical than the nose. Lemongrass, orange, herbs and general grassy notes are followed by just the right amount of lightly hoppy bite. Tartness is discreet. Very well balanced and nuanced. Crisp, clean and lively. Another very well done Keeping Together beer.

Pours a hazy, cloudy yellow color. Huge pillowy white head forms on the beer nearly spilling over the glass as it grows. Head eventually settles in leaving just a splotch of white velvety foam on top of the beer. Aroma has notes of lemon, lemon zest, lemon verbena, with herbal hoppy notes, mint, light grassy notes giving way to a lovely funky, tangy aroma.
Taste follows the nose with gentle lemon and orange citrus notes, zesty and herbal in character. Some lemon grass, lemon verbena also come through. There are also notes of mint, dried grass, dried herbs. Those notes give way to a rustic funkiness, notes of grain, brie, and some floral notes. Its delicious - the overall presentation is this zesty, refreshing lemonade character to the flavor. Feel is medium bodied with bright, lively carbonation.
Overall this is another delicious outstanding saison from Averie. A must try for fans of the style if you get the opportunity.

Brilliant gold, a finger or two of fizzling foam, bright clarity. A second pour allows some yeast to cloud it up a bit.
Pithy lemon and eucalyptus, green herbal dry hop aroma, tiny bit of brie rind funk. A great combo, like a lightly herbal lemonade.
Taste is lemony orange tart with a mild herbal bitterness, a tiny bit resiny and floral also. Hints of rustic funk around the edges, crisp and effervescent. Light and quenching feel, real easy drinking. Nuanced and refined, tartness is well balanced and doesn’t get overly acidic. Overall a nice mixed-ferm saison with great dry-hop character.
9/23: Cellared bottle held up well, dry hop never faded.

750ml bottle poured into HF wine stem.
Appearance: Opaque pale golden yellow body. Thick white cap of bone white head resulting from a hard pour. Was expecting more head from such an aggressive pour. Tons of tiny and creamy looking bubbles composing the head of this saison. Head drops down to ring around glass. Not much lacing
Smell: tropical, earthy, and bitter.
Taste: A light and tropical tartness mostly lemon-lime. Rustic notes in the middle both earthy and lightly floral. Dried apricots and dried coconut flakes and an herbal / bitter lemongrass in the finish. Unique flavors that I have not encountered in a saison before.
Mouthfeel: Light bodied saison. medium carbonation levels. Such a soft and creamy texture with a lightly dry finish. Drinks very very easily.
Overall: This is like a fairly thoughtful blending of old world saison and new world saison. I prefer old world saisons with those iconic rustic flavors. This saison blends a few of those rustic flavors into a restrained tartness that melds really well with the old school stuff. Tropical flavors are what continue to come to mind / are a reoccurring theme with each sip that is taken. I appreciate the restrained tartness because of my overall preference to a rustic belgian saison over the tart saisons that seem to be more popular these days. This also has a really interesting tropical vibe about it as well that you don't encounter with most saisons. Again, I have never tasted tropical flavors like this in a saison and it is what really makes this saison unique. Another stellar KT saison!
