We wanted to pay a little homage to OG Pale Ales with this one. Brewed with an overly complex grist of German Pilsner, English Oats, American Red Wheat, Appalachian White Wheat, and Crystal malt, with just a touch of sugar to dry it out a little. We then jammed Cascade and Crystal hops into the Boil, Whirlpool, and Dry Hop.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium amber in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate medium to dark golden yellow + burnt orange + honey colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense foamy beige head that slowly reduces to a couple of small patches of thin film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled very thin film and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of caramel + toasted + wheat + oat malts with light amounts of caramel sweetness underneath moderate aromas of citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit pith, and floral hops.

T: Upfront there are light to moderate flavors of caramel + toasted + wheat + oat malts with light amounts of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit pith, and floral hops which impart a light to moderate amount of lingering bitterness.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly crisp + refreshing mouthfeel. Enjoyable with nice hop flavors + aromas over the top of a classic malt base - kind of a throwback APA. Could definitely have a couple of these and need to grab this one when I find it again.
