Look: It pours black with a brown head. Head retention is excellent.
Smell: Very rich chocolate aroma with salt, cocoa, and marsh mellow. There are background notes of vanilla, oak, a whiff of smoke and very low bourbon.
Taste: There are some complex flavor elements at work with chocolate, marsh mellow, low bourbon, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, cocoa, and salt.
Feel: It has a medium full body with a bitter sweet aftertaste.
Overall, I found it quite impressive how they managed to do so much with this beer without losing the flavors.

A: Pours an opaque thick viscous jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark chestnut brown + dark cola brown + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense foamy dark mocha colored head that slowly reduces to a medium sized patch of very thin film in the center of the glass and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of vanilla + chocolate/cacao nibs + and rich dark coffee (with some light hints of bourbon caramel vanilla sweetness) over the top of moderate aromas of roasted + chocolate + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of lactose-like + caramel sweetness. Light aromas of hazelnut and a hint of salinity.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of roasted + chocolate + caramel malts with a light to moderate amount of lactose-like + caramel sweetness. That is followed by a light amount of salinity and light flavors of hazelnuts. Finally there are moderate to strong flavors of vanilla + chocolate/cacao nibs + and rich dark coffee (with some light hints of bourbon caramel vanilla sweetness) which linger well through the finish. Minimal amounts of roasty bitterness and overall quite sweet.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a hint of slickness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a smooth + slick mouthfeel though sweet enough to be a slow sipper for me. Enjoyable with lots of complexity to the flavors and aromas (surprising for a lower ABV stout). I would definitely get this one again.
