Milkshake IPA?! Yes way!

We took a base loaded with oats and wheat, hit it with a dash of lactose, refermented it on a boatload of mango and vanilla, and then dry-hopped it with a hefty dose of Amarillo and Southern Cross.

The first rip on this brings you back to the salad days. Notes of dank nugs and peach rings, mango/pear juice splattering the walls, and vanilla daydreams oozing from your eyeballs. Big, crazy fruit notes balanced by high hop character and a really savory finish. Boss is the boss is the boss is the boss is Tony Danza is the boss.

A: Pours a hazy pale bright yellow in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate lemon yellow + very pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense soapy sudsy foamy white head that reduces to a medium to large sized patch of very thin film covering a little more than 70% of the surface of the beer and a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy mango with light to moderate aromas of vanilla over the top of moderate aromas of biscuit + oat + wheat malts with moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. Moderate aromas of juicy citrus/orange + citrus/grapefruit + tropical/mango + stone fruit/peach hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of biscuit + oat + wheat malts with moderate amounts of lactose sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of juicy mango with light to moderate flavors of vanilla. Finally there are moderate flavors of juicy citrus/orange + citrus/grapefruit + tropical/mango + stone fruit/peach hops which impart a minimal amount of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving lingering moderate sweet vanilla + mango flavors.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Lightly creamy with light to moderate amounts of soft/fluffiness mid-body and a very light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly soft/fluffy + creamy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable and the hop flavors + aromas complement well the mango + vanilla + lactose.
