What?! A Marzen?! Yup. “Blood for the Moon” is here for your sacrificial offerings.
Built on a base of @riverbend Pilsner, Munich, and Vienna malts and hopped gently with Saaz and Perle. Fermented low and slow with our House Lager yeast, then laid down to rest for many moons in our Horizontal Lagering tanks. This is a no-frills, straight-up Marzen for keeping you warm as the weather cools down. So slap on a jacket of your choosing, cozy up to the fire, and slug a couple of these bad bois to keep ya warm.
Notes of toasted whole wheat bread, hot-out-the-oven pretzels, a splash of dark honey, and just a touch of spice. Super crushable with that classic Lager finish. MMMMMMM YES.

A: Pours a clear dark mahogany in color with light to moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly from the bottom of the glass and moderate garnet red + dark ruby red + amber colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense creamy foamy beige head that slowly reduces to a large patch of very slightly mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of toasted + bready + caramel + wheat malts with a light amount of caramel + honey + light fruit (apple) sweetness. Light aromas of spicy + herbal + earthy hops as well as slightly heavier than light aromas of lager yeast.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of toasted + bready + caramel + wheat malts with a light amount of caramel + honey + light fruit (apple) sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of lager yeast. Finally there is a light flavor of spicy + herbal + earthy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away after a moderate amount of time.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a relatively clean finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a smooth clean mouthfeel. Enjoyable and a touch sweet (while still being toasty + bready) and decently balanced with herbal + earthy + spicy hops. I could easily have a couple of these.
