Collaboration with Tripping Animals Brewing Co.
If you haven't heard of the Tripping Animals crew out of Southern Florida, you've probably been sleeping under a rock. They've been whipping up some weird and wacky beers, and we finally had the opportunity to host them (we brewed a Purple Carrot and Honeydew DIPA last summer…), so we wanted to pull out all the stops.
We've both been pushing the "Fruited Kettle Sour w/ Marshmallow" game for a while, so we felt it fitting to take both brewery's approaches, and mash them together with something new. We started off with Riverbend Malt 2-Row, a whole mess of Oats, and a big heaping of Honey Malt. Soured overnight in our kettle, boiled and then fermented with our House IPA yeast, we then layered in Pomegranate, Strawberry, Tangerine, Maple Granola, Vanilla Granola, Vanilla, Marshmallow, and a heap of Lactose to round it out.
This is pretty much a gigantic 8.5% ABV breakfast parfait in smoothie form. Big notes of walking up to a smoothie bar and saying "Yeah, I'll have the one with Pomegranate, Strawberry, Tangerine, Granola, Vanilla, Maple, and…uh…Marshmallow. Ohhhh yeah, babyyyyyyy."

Pours a murky reddish orange color, minimal fizzy head. Aroma is a mixed basket with sweet, sour, orange, vanilla, mango. Flavor had a lot going on; sweet at first, I get mango and tangerine, then the vanilla and maple come around, granola is there too. Light carbonation works well here. Sourness is a bit sour but the maple and lactose addictions see to balance it nicely. Overall a tasty imperial fruited sour, becomes a bit heavy after a while.

A: The beer is very hazy brownish yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high dense beige colored head.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pomegranate are present in the nose along with notes of vanilla.
T: The taste has flavors of maple, pomegranate, vanilla and marshmallows and only has a slight amount of sourness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The maple flavors in the taste of this beer make for a nice selection for a breakfast beer. It hides its alcohol rather well.

16oz can from Tavour. Light pink pour, small bubbly head. Beery aroma, strawberries. Fruity, sweet flavors, marshmallows, vanilla. Soft and sweet, mild tartness. Good stuff.
