THE MOMENT YOU’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR! “In the Cut with Gunther” is our latest foray into everyone’s all-time favorite style: ENGLISH MILD!

Mashed with @riverbend Southern Select, Mild Malt, and a hefty dose of Pale Chocolate and Special B. Dosed heavily in the Whirlpool with Fuggles and East Kent Golding. Fermented with our beloved Pub Ale yeast. Spunded for natural carbonation (on cask, but the cans are at full carbonation). AVAILABLE NOW!

We experience toasted Brown Bread, a mouthful of English Tea Biscuits with a killer cup of Black Tea in a dew-covered field, Fig Newtons dipped in Hot Cocoa, and an absolutely perfect balance of all components. Easily our favorite and most balanced English Mild to date. This shit rips, no lie.

It’s a new English Mild! And it’s on Cask! We put our cool lil’ skeleton named Gunther on the label, so that makes it cool now...right? Guys...? Uh, hey...guys...?

A: Pours an almost opaque dark mahogany in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate ruby red + garnet red + chestnut brown + cola brown colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall dense creamy foamy light tan head that slowly reduces to a handful of small to medium sized patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a very thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of toasted + lightly roasted + bready + biscuit + chocolate + slightly nutty malts with a very light amount of dark fruit (fig) sweetness. Light aromas of spicy + earthy hops.

T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of toasted + lightly roasted + bready + biscuit + chocolate + slightly nutty malts with a very light amount of dark fruit (fig) sweetness. That is followed with light amounts of earthy + spicy hops which contribute a light amount of bitterness which slowly fades away leaving a lingering earthiness.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasantly smooth mouthfeel. Nice complexity of malt flavors and aromas. Could easily have quite a few of these - would be perfect sitting in an old school proper English pub (would have been great to get to try this one on cask).
