Had this beer as a nightcap at the brewery during a recent visit to Asheville. This is the “straight up” version of this beer. It is classed as an imperial Baltic by the brewery. I have a bottle of the maple vanilla in the frig.
Just a beautiful beer. Deep, dark rich brown color with excellent lighter brown head and curtain lacing. Strong dark chocolate smell and taste, with vanilla. As it warms, you get notes of cinnamon and chilies. Nice nightcap beer!
