Just in time for spooky season, or any season really, Dssoolvr adds another imperial hazy ale to its repertoire with (add hops) for a taste that’s scary good any day of the year.
Pouring a milky taupe, Reapers & Creepers floats a creamy ivory froth that plays host to a plethora of fruity, citrusy, herbal and tropical perfumes. Creamy and riddled with cereal grain, the early malt profile its softly wheaten with hints of vanilla wafer, honey and cream.
As the hops roll onto the cereal sweetness, the full fruity impressions of oranges, grapefruit, pineapple, banana, mango, passionfruit and kiwi all seem somewhat sherbet-like, but with an earthy and pithy bite to follow. Trending herbal in its bitterness, a grassy taste soon follows with suggestions of green tea, verbena, geranium, cannabis and chive.
Full bodied, creamy and finishing malty-dry, the both bitter and sweet ale continues to track a dank an sod-ish taste into a long and wintergreen aftertaste.
