Collaboration with Woven Water Brewing

Raspberry Granola Brown Sugar Chocolate Imperial Stout! “Duh! Snake Blood II” is our latest foray into dessert-style Adjunct Imperial Stouts and just so happens to be a collab with the fine folks Woven Water Brewing. We had them up a few months back and have been anxiously awaiting the right time to drop this sauce on y’all. HERE WE GOOOOOO! Based off a similar Stout we had done a long way back, but amped up to 11 with a new base beer, Granola, Brown Sugar, and increased dosage rates of everything else. Hell yeah.

Mashed with a base of Riverbend Malt Southern Select and a medley of Roasted and Specialty Malt, fermented with our Pub Ale yeast, and then absolutely pummeled with Brown Sugar for a nice and easy secondary fermentation before conditioning on an absurd volume of Raspberry, Frenchbroad Chocolate Cocoa Nibs, a whole mess of Madagascar Vanilla Beans, and one heaping pile of Granola for good measure.

Yet another mug full of Chocolate Ganache and Raspberry jam, or maybe a fat slice of Chocolate Cake covered in Granola and Raspberries with a side of French Vanilla Ice Cream. Total yum. Come on, taste the snake. It won't bite.

WARNING: We used copious amounts of fruit and don't recommend cellaring this baby. Keep it cold and drink it fresh, y'all!

SECOND WARNING: No snakes were harmed in the making of this product.

A: Pours an opaque yet slightly murky thick viscous jet black in color with moderate to heavy amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and faint dark garnet red + dark cola brown + dark chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a four finger tall dense fizzy foamy dark mocha head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of slightly sweet, slightly tart raspberry + cherry as well as moderate to strong aromas of milk chocolate + dark chocolate. Moderate aromas of toasted + biscuit + caramel + chocolate + roasted + oat malts with moderate to heavy amounts of lactose sweetness. Light aromas of vanilla + brown sugar.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted + biscuit + caramel + chocolate + roasted + oat malts with moderate to heavy amounts of lactose sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of vanilla + brown sugar. Finally there are moderate to heavy flavors of slightly sweet, slightly tart raspberry + cherry + milk chocolate + dark chocolate. Hints of roasty bitterness underneath the lingering slightly tart raspberry + cherry flavors.

M: Medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a hint of prickly acidity in the finish.

O: Not the easiest beer to drink with the over-carbonation and cloying sweetness - I would have preferred a smaller serving than the 16 oz can it came in. Lots of dessert flavors and aromas with tons of sweetness and that subtle note of tartness in the finish. There are some subtle notes that remind me of cough syrup.
