Falling into the cracks of craft beer, brewers turn their sights from common beer ingredients and flavors in favor of something more gluten free, sour and slushy-like. Dssolvr's baja blast inspired, seltzer based beverage might not be classic beer but it's a summertime refresher for sure.
Aquamarine at it's pour, the sparkling but rather still drinkie-thing carries a fruit filled scent of citrus, berry and tropical fruits onto the nose as a light and sugary taste of fruit cocktial, kool-aid and simple syrups carry the sweeter load. Bursting with the uniqueness of blue raspberry, pineapple, lime and lemon push the session into something more found at fast food drive-ins rather than beer bars. Tart in its balance but ultimately simplistic and one dimensional in its depth and complexity, the gluten free sour isn't exactly smart but it is flavorful.
Drawing the attention of the ten year old in all of us, Blah Blah Blast isn't exactly what beer drinkers want but for those who like alcoholic kool-aid will find it quite good.
