a light and snappy german pils here, nicely lagered, a touch dumbed down and simplistic, but its well made beer and i like this sort of thing best right from the tanks, as they serve it in here. its blonde and very light, short fizzy white head, fast fade though, but plenty of rising carbonation. it smells and tastes like german pils malt, crackery and clean, a little bit earthy and even a touch raw, nice with the minerals here, and with the lager yeast which is mild as they go, but distinctly european and has fermented this down to dry. the hops are classic and noble, grassy, green tea, some decent bite too as i let it warm up, not quite spicy, but more bitter than some, or maybe it just stands out more because the rest of this is so light. refreshingly lively carbonation, drier to finish, kind of summery, a decent but not amazing pils, perhaps a tad conservative, but its traditional enough and drinkable. im sure itd be a nice compliment to their impressive looking chicken sandwich, i am regretting not having eaten in here. just a pils, not on the level of the best ones made in town, but solid overall.
