Nice rich, slick, slippery double. Dark golden pour, small frothy white head. Malt forward, hops kick in the background. Warmth seeps in afterwards. Gateway DIPA.

Poured from a brown 22 oz. bottle. Has a beige/orange color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of malts, some tropical fruits. Taste is balanced hops and malts. Tropical fruits, alcohol, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer, but not great for the style.

Poured a copper body with two finger head and lace ring. A juicy almost barley wine aroma as there is a dry, citric hop smell but I get booze, something akin to dark fruits and a pervading sweetness in the aroma - not typical dry, citric, piney hop aroma. A thicker, heavier, body that has some alcohol punch to it but, besides a warm finish, the alcohol never overpowers the beer. Again, not a traditional DIPA as it's not hop-centric. Hops give off a dry, bitter, citric vide but there is also some real sweetness to the hops (tropical and grapefruit). Also get some breadiness, caramel/toffee sweetness and even something more sugary and sweet that I can't figure out. Not a session beer but a great beer to sip on and well worth trying as it is an interesting beer.
