somewhat of an old school ipa here, with a lot of malt balance, biscuity and a touch sweet all the way through, the grain speaking up quite a lot louder than it is often allowed to do these days. i dont mind that, but its sort of overbalanced and seems to come at the expense of the hops a little bit. they use a bunch of different hops in here i am pretty sure, i get a light noble sort of spice and vegetal element in the nose, more of a piney and musky herbaceousness in the flavor, and a little citrus bitterness at the end, pretty well rounded and complex, but better in the aroma than in the flavor. i thought this was a little robust and heavy overall for the seafood i was eating with it, but thats on me, i knew it would be. probably better with something off the grill, but i like the way this drinks, well carbonated and smooth, fuller, hearty, and satisfying. its not the hoppy beers that i have known schlafly to be most proficient at, but this one is pretty solid. nice to have a well refined ipa these days, a respite from the haze!

Poured a clear golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of citrus and pine. Fairly malty for an American IPA. Sweet citrusy hop bite.

I saw a six-pack of Expo for under $4 and decided to pick it up. This is a drinkable beer—fruity and sweet with a heavy citrus flavor. Bitterness is minimal compared to the other Schlafly IPAs. A good beer for the price.

L: Pours a hazy copper orange color with a small white head that dissipates quickly but leaves a white film on top of the beer, nice sheets of lacing on the glass.
S: Some slight tropical citrus fruit, an earthy weedy floral hop and then some toasted malt underneath it all. Aroma isn't very strong for an IPA.
T: Tropical citrus fruit, and a slightly earthy weedy hop, toasted malt, but not much else. A light to medium bitterness for an IPA.
F: Light body and creamy carbonation.
O: This isn't a bad beer, but it seems quite light for an IPA. I will say this beer was pretty close to the six month best by date, and I didn't realize it at the time.

16 oz drawn from a cask into a beer glass at the tap room. Also sampled the draft version. Cask was better due to warmer serving temp and fast disapating head. Loads of character with 8 hops but only subtle hop bitterness. Nice brew I will order again.

Dark brass with a shading of copper. There's a half inch of creamy tan foam on top. Light lacing. The aroma is of citrus hops with hints of light malt. I taste citrus hops with shades of marmalade, orange, and light mango. The mouth is lightly sticky and resinous.
