Copper in color with a hazy complexion and no head on top. The aroma is of sweet apricots and pale wheat. The taste is a very delicate blend of sweet apricots and pale wheat. The mouth, while filled with carbonation bubbles erupting from within (not unlike a carbonated soda), is surprisingly quaffable.

Deep gold in color and cloudy. A lot of head and some lacing.

Smell is a mix of sour acid, apricots, and faint sweetness.

Taste is similar to the nose with acid, apricots, funk, and some citrus.

Mouthful is light and crisp with a bit a creaminess. Carbonation is medium to high. Finish is clean.

A extremely drinkable sour, so much so that the missus enjoyed it and she normally characterizes sours as "vomit". The balance here is what is remarkable. It is not overpowering in any which way. Nose and taste are great. Look and feel are outstanding. Highly recommended.

Lovely slightly hazy apricot color.
Nose of dried apricots.
Taste is still fresh--just the right amount of tart, some orange notes, and apricot.
Finish is more fruity than sour--and very clean.
Lots of carb visible at first but only present in mouth at the end. Surprisingly substantial body.

I love this one--so glad to see schlafly knock one out of the park! And a fruited Berliner at that! Take that, bu!

Shockingly good. Not complex but the aroma and flavor are the truest expression of an apricot I may have ever had in a beer. Close your eyes and you see the fruit in front of you. Feel is light and crisp, not excessively carbonated but a bit crackling.

Consumed at a shore on 6/5/16. I think this is a great beer to start out with if you want to try going down the "sour" road. Pours a "peachy" yellowish orange. Apricot is very present on the nose and in the taste. The finish is not extremely sour, as there was no "heartburn" reflex that usually follows most sours I try. I would definitely pour this again given the chance.

750 mL bottle. Bright orange and hazy. Smells of nice apricot. Just a bit of vegetal grassy aroma. Light acidity. Has a nice apricot flavor as well. Still has that green flavor. Moderate sourness. Not quite the standard berliner profile. Medium light body. Nice flavor, except for the vegetal flavor.

The land of obscurity has landed us in a world where sour ale are hardly distinguishable in brand, style or origin. But Schlalfy gets us back to basics by taking off the gloves and delivering on patient, dedicated and acute attention to the finer details of Berlinerweiss.

As a bready and lightly funked scent grazes the nose, nuances of Sprite soda and sparkling white wine garner intrigue. The ale settles in the glass is a hazy golden-straw hue and shows tremendous pride in it's wheaten beginnings. A creamy and polite swath of foam adorns the rim as the first taste draws near. Its then when an explosion of flavor goes off in the mouth! What's promising of short sourdough and confectioner's sweetheart candy takes a sour turn right off the bat and holds each and every tastebud hostage.

The brazen sourness of lemon, lime, grapefruit, crabapple and sour white grapes wash the middle palate with a host of sour "warhead-type" flavors. While copious amounts of apricot has poured into the recipe, its taste is void of the fructose sweetness and the tangy, tropical succulence of the fruit remain. Shying away from vinegar, vinous or acetic sourness. The taste that frames the finish is clean and of under-ripened citrus, berry and apple.

With enough acidity to make the face "stick that way", the light and clean bodied ale strips the palate of all thirst with utter ease. Refreshing and sharply acute- the beer's fruit and light alcohol spice evaporate off the after-palate seemingly before reaching the gullet. The light creamy effects of the beer dissolve on the palate with the most modest whimsy of burlap and wheat in its wake.

Aroma is heavily sour, with a significant barnyard presence, notes lemon pith, and apricot sweetness. The combination reminds me of pledge furniture polish.

Flavor is very sour, lactic and citric, stripping the tastebuds just before soft apricot sets in and lingers into the aftertaste. Lacks the depth needed to score higher.

Absolute cloudy orange body. The smell is incredible. Like an Italian jam with whole chunks of apricot. Tastes like apricot puree or nectar. Retains the balanced acidity and wheat body of a berliner. Stunning beer.

This beer is awesome. It is right up there with de Garde's Imperial Apricot Bu. Nose is apricot and lacto sourness, taste is apricot awesomeness with sour backbone to match making this most likely the best beer Schlafly has ever made IMO. Big chunks of fruit and other shit are in the glass so you know you are actually drinking fruit. Well worth the cost.

Pours a moderately cloudy golden color. Smells of oak, barnyard funk, lemon zest, and tons of apricots. Moderately tart but sweet. Apricot flavor shines in this one. Extremely crisp yet full flavor. Crushable. Amazing brew by schlafly. Hope they make this every year. If i see another bottle i will definitely buy

This beer blew me away! A great alternative to Fou Foune. Tons of Apricot juicy flavors followed by a light acidity and a tiny tiny bit of funky complexity.

750 into a snifter

L - Pours hazy and orange with thin white head - like sparkling apricot nectar
S - Sharp lactic acid and big apricot
T - Follows the nose, slightly shap lacto, with huge fruit. Amazeballs levels of awesome apricot flavors with a drying acidity to the finish that is very refreshing
F - Slightly prickly which fits the style

Overall, this blew me away. I would never have picked this up, but was recommended it by a friend, and wow. Just wow. I would tell you to go out and buy it now, but I don't wan't you to beat me to the store because I am planning to clear the damn shelves of this stuff in the morning

Bottle date 10/17/2015.

Well, I cant believe that Schlafly actually brewed this beer! What a crazy surprise from a brewery that makes less than a handful of beer that I actually enjoy. This beer is lota with authentic flavor and nose of apricots. Nice sourness 5/10 so it is pushing closer to a wild ale in style than a belinner weissebier. Not much of that cheesey / greek yogert funk that I love in a berlinner, but that is okay because this beer stands alone without having that present. Very awesome mouthfeel. Light bodied beer with low carbonation and moderate driness in the finish. Crisp, snappy, and refreshing. Fruit has an almost juicy quality about it.

Banich! Thanks mang.

Bright orange, moderately hazy, small white head. Tart apricots, unicorns, rainbows. Incredibly drinkable and full flavored. Awesome sauce. If you see this, buy it.

Poured into a snifter because that's what I wanted to do.

A: Pour is an opaque apricot color (how fitting!) with a rapidly dissolving head that goes away as quickly as it arrives.

S: The smell is an abundance of fruit with hints of funk.

T: Tart and fruity. Tons of apricot flavor and a little bread-like malt in the back. Sourness level is medium.

M: Light and refreshing each swallow eagerly invites another sip. Tartness lingers on for a while.

O: I'm very impressed with this offering from Schlafly. The price is hefty, but the payoff is worth it in my worthless opinion.

This is NOT a pretty beer. Even while attempting to decant, it was pouring a cloudy, dirty yellow-orange. Maybe I agitated the bottle trying to get the wax off, but who knows. Big chunks eventually fell into the glass. Head was pretty full on a mildly aggressive pour, fine on an easier one. Unfortunately it faded fast and its presence is a mere shadow on the side of the glass that disappears entirely in due time.

The nose makes up a lot of what is lacking in the look. Sour notes obvious-citrusy and peachy - comes across more peachy than apricot to me. There is a weird musty, perhaps wood smell involved as well. Early on, the combination also comes across with a bit of a chemical-like note - like furniture polish (not strong, not overwhelming, but it's there). With warmth this transformed into more of an apricot to add to the bouquet.

Taste isn't as strong as the nose, but grabs the major notes from it and includes them. Tart grapefruit opening, with enough carbonation to suggest a grapefruit soda, but the effervescence is not really there. The pitted fruit notes don't grow as strong in the nose and are more apricot in nature (sour peach maybe). Sour notes tug on the middle of the tongue nicely, and there is no sign of that chemical note. There's also little musty/woody notes. Just a fairly clean sour biting taste that fades with a light tingle left on the tongue.

A decent sour, but I am missing the earthy bitterness I have come to enjoy in a Berliner that I take as a difference in that style over a straight sour. Maybe that shouldn't be a factor, but it is for me. If you are a fan of sours, this one will probably be at least enjoyable.

Beautiful color on the pour, lots of carbonation that quickly dissipates to nothing. Smell is lightly acidic with apricots. Clean Berliner sour flavor with plenty of residual apricot flavor. Glad I picked up extras.

Poured into a snifter.

A - Bright orange hazy beer, looks like a large apricot stuffed into a snifter - very cool. Poured with a 1 inch milky head that dissipated quickly.

S - Apricot at the forefront, with some funk, and just a hint of hops. The apricot and hops compliment each other nicely.

T - The initial taste is sour, tart, and apricot. It kind of hits you all at once. But once I started drinking it was pretty well balanced. I get hints of both fresh and dry apricot in there.

M - Light mouth feel. Good carbonation. Feels refreshing.

O - I enjoyed this beer a lot. I can't believe how much apricot flavor this has. The colors are so bright, looks like a liquefied apricot. Pretty amazing. Hard to find any faults, very personal preference is just a touch less of sour in there. Definitely not going to stop me from drinking this again if I can ever find it. Well worth it.

One of the best apricot sours I have had and easily one of the top Berliners. This rivals anything de Garde is doing. The pour is a deep, cloudy gold. Nose is all apricots and a little funk. Taste is bursting with apricots, funk and tartness. So fruity, so tart, yet so balanced.

If you like apricots and sour beers, this is the one for you. Tons of apricot flavor, which sort of mixes both fresh and dried apricot taste. There's also some interesting malty, bready taste that backs up the sweet and sour overall flavor, keeping it from being overwhelming. A finely crafted sour that hits all the right notes but nails its main theme, that being apricots. Other interesting sensations in there that I can't put a finger on, that for some reason reminds me of chicken soup, but I'm sure that's just some sensory confusion. Either way, totally tasty.

Poured in to a 4oz snifter. L: Golden color, hazy, murky, short head the clings the glass. Beautiful beer. S: Apricots on Apricots. Some lemon, barnyard, and sour candy. T: Apricot, lactic tartness, perfectly balanced, well executed Berliner underneath the apricot. M: perfect amount of pucker and coating of the mouth. Smooth.
Overall: I was very excited for this beer but expected the worst. Blew all my expectations out of the water, totally awesome. Gonna go get as many as possible. Hoping this becomes part of a revolving lineup.

Pours a bright gold, hazy and opaque. Head is small, fizzy, and white. No lacing.

Amazing fruit aroma. So much apricot going on. Just amazing. Not really getting anything else but it doesn't matter. Intoxicating.

Taste is tart apricot, first second and third. Some other citrus lurking underneath. A little lemon, orange, and pineapple. Hints of malt. Wheat and biscuit.

Mild mouth feel with crisp carbonation. Tart and tingly on the tongue. Apricot flavor lingers and dances. Never goes all the way sour but tartness increases on each sip.

A really great fruit sour. Not highly complex but so delicious. Apricot for days. So drinkable with the low 4.2% abv.

Lots of apricot in the nose. Doesn't smell as if it would be sour. That changes with the first sip. Because of the smell, the taste was surprising. Super tart. Well done. Lots of bright fruit and a crisp sour finish. Very well done.
