Chestnut with thin head. Fairly strong floral,grapefruit/citrus, grassy hops with a little chocolate and a bit of caramel. Flavor is grass, caramel, bit if chocolate. Fairly dry. Thin mouthfeel.

Pours a crystal clear dark nutmeg color. Two finger off-white head dissipates slowly and never completely. Velvety lacing covers the sides of the glass.
Aroma is malty with some notes of chocolate, nuts, and some grassy hops.
Taste follows the nose with some malty notes up front that are earthy, somewhat nutty and slightly smoked. Hints of cocoa and floral hops come through.
Feel is pretty light, goes down easily and is smooth. Prickly carbonation hits the palate up front.
Solid brown ale from Schlafly - not the best out there, but better than many lesser examples.

Appearance: Opaque brown, with a slight tan head and no lace.
Aroma: Chocolate roasty caramel malts. Nice.
Taste: Roasty malts, hoppy finish. Rich and flavorful, this is pretty well an ideal brown ale.

This is a solid if unremarkable brown ale. Pours a medium brown with decent head and lacing. Aroma and flavor have moderate nuttiness, some toffee, light chocolate, and floral hops.

A coffee-to-nutty leaning, dark but obviously brown ale. Nice palate, light but with moderately bold flavors.

Deep mahogany brown in color with minimal light penetration. Light lacing. There's a fingernail of brown covering the vast majority of the top and around the rim. The aroma is very enticing and packed with with chocolate and caramel. I'm tasting plenty of chocolate and caramel. The mouth is very smooth and viscous.

From a mixed twelve pack, this is the first time I've seen this Schlafly beer. It is a dark brown color with a little red if held to the light. The aroma is of chocolate, with a nutty, lightly roasted malt undertone. Low hop aroma, and the taste has a pleasant toasted malty flavor. Nice. Balanced, with a firm bitterness. The hop flavor doesn't come out, but the bitterness is firm. Nice finish. Full in body.
