Black in color with no penetration to light. There's a quarter inch of creamy brown head on top. Heavy lacing is present. The nose is of toasted coconut and dark malt. I'm tasting toasted coconut and dark malt. The mouth is silky smooth and creamy.

Pours black with two fingers of khaki head. Head is foamy, and retains moderately well. Lacing is stranded about here and there. Aroma launches coconut, toffee, and toasted malts right down the nostrils. Border line sweet, but very much enticing for a beer labeled with "toasted coconut". Flavor profile oozes coconut, toffee, caramel, and toasted malts. Coconut may be a little artificial in it's flavor, but holds up well. This beer leans more towards the sweet side of the stout and malt spectrum. Mouth feel is medium-thick, with a striking balance between graininess and smoothness. Overall, it's a well crafted coconut stout. The notes are fantastic, with a solid impression right from the first pour. It's solid across the board. Well played, Schlafly.

Taste: Semi sweet, chocolate malts, coconut is subtle, creamy finish. Nose is the same. Black/brown, semi clear, tan head, with a broken ring of lattice lace. Medium body.

Pours a black color. 2/3 inch head of an off-tan color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of slight hops, slight sweet malt, pale malt, and a hint of coconut. Fits the style of an American Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of slight hops, slight sweet malt, pale malt, and a hint of coconut. Overall, good appearance and feel, but disappointing aroma and body. The blend is not conducive.
