Poured a cloudy almost dirty looking yellow. Aroma was of pineapple and grapefruit and taste was more of the same with some nice spicy rye noticeable. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and smooth as one would expect via the cask. Beer was served a little warm even for the cask, almost at room temperature, and the warmth allowed some alcohol to be noticeable in the taste. Ok beer but Schlafly does much better.

The 2005 Festival Beer pours redish brown with little head quickly falling to a thin ring as the beer is transfered from the cellar conditioned cask into an official Festival glass. I tried this early and found several other Cask-conditioned Ales more satisfying. Although I have added flaked rye to my homebrews I detected little grain in the flavor. Body is on the light side. Very clean and crisp mild hops. Finishes dry. A definate session beer.
