Another nice wheat American Pale Ale that competes with the best of what I have tried in my experiences. Not the best, but pretty good. Great wheat and hop blend.

Lemongrass and soft wheat on the nose. Citrus is soft and pleasant too. Lightly hoppy. Refreshing and fresh smell. Two finger foamy white head that stays around the whole time. Carbonation shooting up fast from the bottom of a gold and bright looking beer. Head retention is great. Soft citrus and bread sweetness up front followed up by some floral and citrus hop notes. Finish is long with a hint of bitterness lingering. Mouthfeel is creamier than I was expecting based on the higher carbonation. Carbonation is still lively and balances the creamy texture wonderfully. Well rounded wheat beer, very happy and easy to drink.

A mere 13 years in, Schlafly have finally hopped aboard the Gumballhead train. I won't rag on them too hard, though, since a sixer of tall boys (!) sold for under tend bucks.

Pours a dark yellow with medium haze and a nice, tight white head.

The aroma reveals a hop profile that is (unfortunately) much more contemporary than GBH, with Mosiac stealing the show along with some other newfangled fruity varietal that I can't quite place. (EDIT: A google search tells me it's Challenger). It's straightforward and nice but there's nothing really special about it.

Tastes a bit more balanced than the aroma led me to anticipate, still very hop-forward but with some cereal nodes on the back. Maybe I'm old or whatever but I don't think these tropical fruit varietals do a good enough job of balancing themselves and I prefer either some embitterment or else some malt in there. But whatever. It's fine. A thin back end drags it down a bit but it's flavorful and drinkable.

I usually don't see the point of hoppy wheat brews because the hops overpowers any thing you get from the wheat. This one has a nice balance though! And a low ABV. So have another one, eh?

Pours a cloudy maize color. 3/4 inch head of an off-white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of floral hops, slight citrus hops, yeast, wheat, earthiness, and slight resin. Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level and noticeable bitterness. Tastes of floral hops, slight citrus hops, yeast, wheat, earthiness, and slight resin. Overall, good appearance, body, feel, and blend.

There's alot of these failed hoppy wheats. This is not one. Nice hop aromas. The fruit the hops brings comes forward and there's little to no sweetness to ruin it. Its mild, but then again most wheat beers are disappointingly mild. This one at least adds hops.

A hoppy bitter beer that overtakes the wheat with citrus dancing in the background.

Hazy yellow bright white bubbly head. Nice smell with hints of sweet citrus. Nice pale ale... like most of Schlafly's pale ales. Just enough of the hoppy add to make it interesting, but not overdone on the bite like so many ipa's. A little sweeter than many pales, so the wheat really comes off well. The citrus smell also comes out on the taste.

I bought a bottle of this off the single shelf at Binny's. It poured a slightly hazy yellow with fizzy white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had hints of citrus peel. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink...very close to 3Fs Gumballhead. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with fizzy carbonation. Overall it's a decent offering.
