This IPA pours a beautiful, slightly hazy light red-gold. The head, somewhere between foam and bubbles, was somewhat thin and did not stick around for the party. Still a tempting looking beer. On first whiff, Schlafly's Northeast IPA hits the nose with a burst of the tropical: fresh, bright pineapple and lime. Then the smell develops its darker tones, with resinous ripe melon, and browned apples. If only this beer had such punch in flavor. The beer tastes unpleasantly overripe. By this I mean its bitterness does not find mitigation in considerable musk. Disappointing flavor given the beautiful appearance and intriguing complexity of the nose. At least the beer finds life on the tongue, foaming and coating well, though leaving a long-lingering bitterness.

Hazy copper color. Tropical fruit and resin mildly in the nose. Follows through to the taste with a little soapiness and sweet malt. Mildly bitter. Good IPA, but not a NEIPA.

12oz, bottled with love on 01052018. Very hazy amber colored ale with a tall creamy ivory colored head. Zesty and tropical aroma but it's rather muted. Juicy and flavorful with notes of mango, orange, caramel, and a hint of lemon-lime. Fuller body, creamy and a bit resinous, alcohol very well concealed, finishing modestly bitter with plenty of residual sweetness. I expected something bigger and bolder with this, especially in the aroma department.

Medium hazy copper orange.
Moderate tropical aroma.
Hoppy, but bitterness is low.
Mild lingering and dry finish.
Carbonation seems higher than normal.
Not a bad IPA, but not really what I was expecting from something named northeast IPA

Amber/golden bodied pour with nice head retention and lacing. Smells fresh and juicy. Flavor is a little fruity, fresh, some mild piney hops. Definite sweetness but not annoying about it. Good mouthfeel and finish. Easy going for 8.00 %.

Pours a chill-hazed amber with 2 fingers of pearl colored head. Good head retention & lacing, clears up

S: Floral & tropical notes

T: Orange juice, a little breadyness, plus dryness up front. A little pineapple, some mango, plus a little orange juice once warm. Finishes with dryness, mango & orange juice

MF: Medium body, fairly assertive carbonation

Very easy to drink, not a bellcow for the style, but pretty good

Pours a murky, deep orange/burgundy with two fingers of off-white head. Head retention is fair with great lacing left behind. Aroma is orange, clementine, and resin. Flavor profile is resin, with a dose of orange and clementine. Nice touch of west coast style in this beer. Mouth feel is medium in thickness, with a velvety, boisterious feel. Overall, a hearty IPA with good notes all around. It drinks smooth and clean, with a pleasant list of aroma and flavor attributes.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 12oz bottle. Reviewed from notes.

12oz bottle. Poured out a slightly cloudy, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of tropical fruit, pine and toasted caramel. Nice sweet caramel and tropical fruit taste. Good bitterness.

Pours a clear amber color. 2/3 inch head of an off-white color. Good retention and great lacing. Smells of strong citrus hops, esters, floral hops, sweet malt, hint of tea, hint of piney hops, and alcohol. Fits the style of an American IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level and elevated hop bitterness. I believe it is incorrectly placed in the IIPA category on the website. Tastes of strong citrus hops, alcohol, strong floral hops, sweet malt, tea, hint of rye, hint of black pepper, and slight piney hops. Overall, good appearance, aroma, body, and blend. Not quite the fruity, hazy, hop-less NE IPA of the norm, but nevertheless a good AIPA.
