Pours a light golden straw color with a two finger fluffy white head. Aroma is lightly grassy, with hints of flowers and mint. Taste follows with a big whack of mint and floral notes, followed by a grassy and slightly spicy finish. Mouthfeel is medium, and a touch coating for a blonde, but not overly so. Overall, this beer is like the others in the hop trial lineup, in that it showcases the Ella hop quite well. I like some of the others better.

one of the better and more complete beers in this box. i love the learning that i gleaned from this mixed pack, each of these hops aside from chinook was somewhat foreign to me, so its nice to see what they do in such a simple yet well constructed base beer. perle has some really unique characteristics, its sort of like a super noble thing, with some of the grassy, spicy, and floral qualities we see in varietals like saaz, but with some more intensity, higher alpha, and citrus fruitiness. i get wet green lawn, light lime and grapefruit, tangerine peel, clover, and a vegetal bitterness, somewhat more robust in both aroma and flavor than i expected this to be, but all really agreeable characteristics, odell did a beer with perle, but it wasnt this distinct to me, so this is really the first i have tasted it in isolation and so forward, its great. the pale two row malt here seems like a perfect canvass for this hop, more so than some of the other beers in this box, the breadiness and body are appreciated, i think it gives the hops a little more space to express themselves, and there is great balance here overall. i think perle might be the most versatile of the hops from the beers in this box, again chinook aside. nice as a dry hop in a lighter style, but also with great potential to bitter and flavor an american pale ale or something like this. nicely done!

Excellent golden color with hazy body and bright white head leaving ample lacing. Great mouthfeel. Clean and refreshing. Some spicy notes on the tail.

Gold in color with excellent clarity and a half inch of creamy off white head. The Perle hops smell earthy to grassy. I'm tasting grassy to earthy hops with a light grain to wheat backbone. The mouth is light, smooth, and crisp.

Poured out a clear, golden-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled earthy and a little nutty with toasted caramel. Tasted of sweet toasted caramel, grassy hop bitterness and an earthy quality.

This brew, on a base golden ale, is hazy and golden. Wonderful tall and firm, brilliant white head. The aroma is modest, a little hop note and some underlying pale malt. The hop taste, however, pops...spicy, herbal, earthy, and fresh. Full in body, lightly sweet, and very satisfying.
