My good friend and old neighbor from Oswego gave me a bottle of this beer. It poured an opaque dark with thin off white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had faint pepper spice. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with fruit hints and pepper highlights. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Appearance: Deep, ruby-tinged black with a nice khaki head and limited lace.

Aroma: Mostly cocoa with a touch of fruit. Subtle.

Taste: Cocoa with a bit of fruit (barely much mango detectable) and some mild heat on the finish from the anchos. Pleasant and unusual brew that I’d drink again, no problem.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle, which says 6.2% abv on it. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of roasted malts. some coffee. Taste is roasted malts, hot pepper, which becomes more pronounced as it warms, a slight hint of mango. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a decent beer.

It looks like a stout, dark brown with khaki foam. It smells like a pale ale with sweet, juicy mango with some mild peppers, no malt detected. Taste is not very stout like either, though malt is present, the mango is huge and the peppers slowly add in. Feel is stout like with creamy and smooth textures. Interesting flavors in a stout

Black with thick tan head. Chocolate and smoke in the aroma with a hint of mango. I'm not sure if I would have correctly identified the mango in the taste, but it has a fairly strong presence, and it blends nicely with the stout flavors, which are a little more chocolate than coffee. Also some caramel. I was instantly into the flavor on the first sip, but it's just gimmicky enough to get a little bit old before the first glass is gone. I wouldn't drink more than one. There's a nice level of heat that sits mostly in the throat, and on the lips. It works well.

Bottle says 6.2% ABV. Looks like a stout. Smell is of malted milk balls. Has a slight fruitiness to the aroma, but I would never peg it as mango.

Interesting flavor. I get a little of the fruit vibe, but again I wouldn’t think it was mango. Cocoa, malty and definitely get the pepper on the finish. I can also feel the pepper linger on my lips.

This flavor combo really works for me. I wouldn’t drink a lot of it. A six pack would likely last me the winter. I does provide an interesting diversion away from the everyday.

Wasn't sure about this after first two sips, but ended up being a winner. The mango sweetness is first, followed by an ever so slight pepper "burn." This stout works better for me than other pepper beers (IPAs).

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of sweet mango, a little ancho and some roasty notes. The mango hits hard early on. As it warms up the ancho heat builds.
