12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottled 1/6/2020, so closing in on 5 months old.

Looks decent enough. Black body with hints of dark brown when held up to the light. Creamy tan head doesn't last long, but can easily be replenished with some agitation. Slick lacing.

only getting an aroma of lightly roasted malt.

on tasting, it's pretty smooth, roastiness in the light to medium range. You get the feel of the lactose more than any creaminess. No vanilla notes, which may be age related.

Mouth a touch below medium, finish a smooth light roast.

Overall, a well named beer. Easy drinking, no fierce roast, smooth.

very smooth stout the lactose gives it a nice taste - not too much lactose to make it a milk beer - great to drink

Poured from the bottle into a nonik pint glass.

Creamy topped head, with a real nice khaki color and two easy fingers of created head. A good amount of staying power with minimal lacing, sitting on a very dark nearly black and opaque body. Very nice looking beer.

Creamy action even continues on the nose. A soft sense of milk and cream, mixing with light char and a full roasty malt body. Faint hints of biscuit, maybe even a touch of caramel in there also. Real nice smelling stout, with a cake like rich sensing flavor.

Palate hits real nicely. Creamy sensing palate with touches of light vanilla and dark chocolate. Pine and citrus like hop finish a bit with a real nice twinge of bitterness, giving to even black licorice like flavors. Hits steely rich and subtley sweet. Full bodied with hardly a hint of light abv at all.

This is a real session brew I can get into for sure.

Black, rich, tan head, ok retention, good lace
Coffee, a bit of roast, slightest hint of licorice
Lots of dark chocolate flavors, hints of herbs and licorice.
Full bodied, with light carbonation to make it seem even more full.
Powerful flavor that you can drink a few of!

12oz brown bottle, media sample from the brewery.

Tight looking tan head stay on top of this black liquid for a while. Proper aromas and flavors of roasted malt for a stout, smooth with a moderate sized body. Is the added lactose needed? Probably not though it doesn't hurt the brew though it doesn't make it more sessionable. Brewed to the style of a stout, balanced and fun to knock back.

Black in color with minimal light penetration. There’s a fingernail of beige around the rim and covering nearly all on top. Moderate lacing. The aroma is of lactose and dark malt. I’m tasting a lot of dark malt, a bit of smoke, and lactose. The mouth is very light and quaffable.

Black with short tan head. Nice mild roasty smell, a little chocolatey. Flavor is soft, with a slightly burnt roast that lingers, tootsie roll, bit of toffee. Medium mouthfeel. Balance leans slightly towards the sweet.

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It smelled of chocolate, toffee and roasted caramel malt. Sweet chocolate with toffee and a nice bitterness.
