12oz bottle into a pint glass. Bottled 1/3/20, so 9 months old.

Looks nice in the glass. Black body with a nice tan head. The head persists throughout, leaving delicate lacing.

Faint aroma of light roast chocolate malt.

On tasting, any effect from the dry hopping has faded after 9 months. What's left is a clean easy drinking stout. Light but noticeable roast. Faint apple core touch. Mouth is on the thin side for the style. Finish lightly roasty.

Overall, would be interesting to try a fresh version of this to see how the dry hopping affects the base stout, but, as it stands, it's a decent easy drinking beer.

great hoppy taste for a stout - almost don't taste like a stout lighter in color than most stouts - great hoppy after taste

Poured from the bottle into a nonik pint glass. Bottled Jan 13th 2020.

Creamy light tan and big cascading head forming right out of the glass. Big fist tall height head, with creamy thick IPA like retention and loads of scattered lacing. Deep burnt dark red mahogany brown and classic opaque. An aggressive all out great looking beer.

Aroma is just fantastic. Thick hop aroma mixing with notes of light citrus and orange, sitting on top of an excellent dark chocolate malt and roast quality. This seems like a big Cascadian/Black IPA more than anything and an exceptional one.

Palate brings things a bit more even keel. Definitely more of a classic stout than IPA flavor, with excellent use of simple roast and char and a good backbone. Lighter hop fruit orange like finish on the aftertaste, almost a little milky like in feel as well.

Good solid tasting hop forward stout.

Black with a tan head. Ok retention and lace.
Roasty malt aroma, with some pine and herbal hops
Flavor is pretty much just a repeat of the aroma
Heavyish mouthfeel, light carbonation
It's ok, I like where it's going, it just didn't go as far as I would have liked it.

Black in color with minimal light penetration. There’s a solid inch of densely packed creamy brown head on top. The aroma is of barley and piney hops. I’m tasting a blend of barley and piney hops. The mouth is lightly chewy, dry, and syrupy.

12oz brown bottle, media sample from the brewery.

As dark as expected, love the tan froth on top. Smells of herbal, oily, minty, piney hops with a kiss of roasted grain. Smooth with a bit of creaminess, more hop flavor than bitterness ... most of the bitterness comes from the roasted grain. Very balanced with lots of flavor, the brewer didn't hold back on this one. Semi-dry finish with a long linger of roastiness and pine hop. I really dig this brew.

From a brown twelve ounce bottle, with a tall, thick, rocky, brown head, this is a dark beer. Brownish-black. The aroma is roasty, with some fresh hop notes. Rustic. The taste is dryer than expected. Roasted grain and hop presence. Full in body and drinkable. Nice.

Black with tan head. Tootsie roll, smoke, herb, pine, bit of citrus. The hop aroma is strong for a stout but not crazy. Flavor follows, with more citrus in the finish. It works pretty well. Light mouthfeel.

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It smelled of roasted malt, pine and toffee. Very roasty and piney.

I popped the cap on the bottle and was instantly reminded of mowing the lawn. I took a sip, and tasted grass clippings and citrus notes. It's an IPA masquerading as a stout. It would probably be great in the summer, but right now it's 30 degrees outside. Darn it.
