From a twelve ounce brown glass bottle, this beer is a dark brownish-black color with a long-lasting tan head. It’s a nice-looking beer. The aroma has a little coconut, but it isn’t overdone…it is backed with a roasted grain smell. The coconut comes out more after the first sip, and the beer is well balanced, with a solid stout flavor. Full in body and enjoyable.

12 oz bottle poured into a tulip pint glass. Pours nearly pitch black with a creamy tan head. Aroma and flavor feature dark roasted malt, sweet coffee, dark chocolate, hints of vanilla and earthy hops, and not very much coconut at all. I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't known it was in there. Still a delicious coffee stout, though.

Black Coffee color with a modest tan head that produces some nice lacing.
The aroma is sweet coconut and strong dark coffee.
The taste is the same with the coconut sweetness offsetting the bitterness of the coffee for a pleasant balance, a nice dark roasted malt background for a little extra depth. The body is medium/full, moderate carbonation, smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a very nice after dinner sipper, but worthwhile anytime.

Black in color with no light penetration. There’s an inch of densely packed brown on top. Moderate, soapy lacing. The aroma is of dark, cold brewed coffee with a hint of coconut. I’m tasting dark, bitter coffee with a touch of coconut sweetness in the fade. The mouth is oily and dry.

12oz bottle. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, light brown head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of sweet coconut, coffee, chocolate and toffee. Sweet flaked coconut taste with chocolate and very mild coffee bitterness.
