Dark red, almost black. One finger of light tan head. Retreats to a few frosty circles floating atop the liquid. Good lacing.
Fresh fruity and floral hop aroma. Raw and spicy. What more could you want?
The hop character in this stuff is brilliant. Bright citrus fruits, mainly lemon and grapefruit as well as raw pine needles attack the taste buds with a sharp yet pleasant bite. Malt backbone holds everything in check with a wheat bread quality. Finishes semi-dry with lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Light to medium bodied. A little light for the style. Could use a little more malt for texture but the flavor is exceptional. Calm yet adequate level of carbonation.
Wow! This is some good stuff. Hop forward yet well balanced. The freshness makes it great for a summer night. Highly drinkable also. Probably the best I've had yet of the Schlafly line.
