Our Maibock is a golden, malty lager with a hint of sweetness. This festival Bock is balanced by German Noble hops, giving the beer a slightly dry finish.
Bavarian brewers made Maibock for Maifest, the annual celebration of the arrival of spring. Accordingly, the festival beer has a medium body and gravity, thus bridging the divide between the stronger, darker bocks of winter and the lighter, paler lagers of summer.

I had it on draught at the brewery. Served in a pilsner glass. It is a pretty honey color - almost clear - with a finger cap of fluffy, ecru-colored foam and spotty lacing. It smells of bready malt with a whiff of caramel and citrus. It has the classic Maibock taste: Sweet brown bread and caramel with a dry, hoppy bitterness from the German Noble hops. It is full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated and the 6.3% ABV gives it good substance. Overall, this is a very solid and enjoyable Maibock. I’m surprised there aren’t many recent ratings/reviews.

On tap. Poured a clear, golden amber color with a foamy, off-white head. It smelled of toffee, caramel and sweet bread. Sweet caramel, toffee flavors with a subtle bitterness.

Tan and clear, with great sheets of lacing and a nice head.
Smell was somewhat like a hef, with plenty of yeast and a little sweetness.
Taste was plenty malty with some honey like sweetness, lots of great yeast flavors, and some light spices.
Feel was light and drinkable, yet still had plenty of great body. The alcohol is well concealed and the aftertaste was lightly sweet with lingering yeast.
Overall it's a fine example of the style, and another great beer from the Schlafly taproom.

A: GOlden yellow color with small white meringue fluffy head. Large, slwo rising bubbles. Looks thick.
S: Alcohol right up front followed by a huge rush honey sweetness. Smells of a big time rich pils with an awesome hop spice bite.
T: Alcohol, sweet malt, lemon pepper bite/spice. Clean flavors and comes and goes quickly.
M: Oily and creamy with spicy carbonation. Thick and simple syrup like consistency.
O: I ahve never ahd this style so I feel inadequate to judge it based on the style, however, I will review based on my idea flavors of beer. A little to sweet for me but the mouthfeel was quite nice.

This beer isn't as crisp as some other maibocks i've had. It still has a very good, golden taste. My roommate and I took a growler of this back from the Tap room and I have to say it tasted fery fesh and tasty. It has a really good blend of hops and malt with the hops coming out on top. Not the best of this style i've had but still very good

Pours a clear, dark gold color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of sweet malt, pale malt, grain, yeast, hint of hops, and slight citrus. Fits the style of a Maibock / Helles Bock. Mouth feel is smooth and clean with a low carbonation. Tastes of sweet malt, slight earthy malt, dough, slight hop, and slight citrus. Overall, good appearance aroma, and body.
