Got this brew at a discounted price at the local liquor store since it was past dated. It was still good...deep roasted coffee taste with a great malt yet slight hop flavor

Poured an opaque, black color with with a small, creamy tan head of foam. It smelled of subtle roasty notes. Slightly sweet and roasty. Nice dry finish.

One of my very favorite Irish Stouts, this beer is deep brown to black in color, well balanced, with wonderful roasted malt flavors up front, hints of coffee and bitter chocolate in the middle, and finish that is dry, bitter and most importantly not sour.

I love stouts, but not this one. It is good, but it lacks in deep flavors, smell, and the smooth mouthfeel that stouts should have.
A - Beautiful black with a one finger tan head that lingers
S - Weak hints on malts and roasted nuts
T - very dry and malty, with a slightly bitter hoppy aftertaste
M - smooth, but not compared to most stouts
D - surprisingly strong
