fabulous take on the style, my first beer of the day on a day i could have done without beers, but it totally turned me around, really a splendid brew, well refined but also unique, the inclusion of french hops in one of these is a first in my experience i think, but also i have seen this packaged as both italian and as french pils, so not sure which it is or why its changed, but the french hops are fun in this, great overall proportions too. blonde yellow on the pour, bright as can be, perfect clarity, even a mirror level shine to it, airy white head from the tap with fine retention, big bubble size here on the carbonation, and lots of it. the nose and taste are so fresh, soft biscuity unique pils malt, earthy minerality, light breadiness and mild aromatic sweetness but dry to taste, not dusty or german to me at all, less cereal forward than many, distinctive and even kind of floral to my senses, a great foundation for this. the lager yeast is right there with the grain, doing its thing, maybe the least unique part of this, but the actual lagering is expert to be sure. the hops are what i think makes this unique, barbe rouge and mistral, pretty righteous, not super intense or anything, but they add neat mid palate fruitiness in the red berry range, hawthorn or something, and some herbal bitterness late to bring some snap and quickness, subtle citrus there as well, green tea, lush and fresh, just fantastic! a killer food beer, flavorful but with some structure to it too as these go, credit this special pils malt for that, we had it with raw fish and it was incredible. excited carbonation, no hop linger at all, thirst quenching and intriguing enough to keep me drinking this pretty fast. i loved this, cant wait to have it again, call it italian or call it french, its a winner! one of the best ive had from these guys to date...

Clear, yellow color with a big, white head. Grass, cereals, and lemongrass in the aroma. Crisp, light, and refreshing. Moderate hoppy bitterness in taste.

Vitruvian Pils pours an opaque pale, with not much head. The aroma is very light, with a hint of bright cereal. The flavor is delicate and sweet, with a touch of lemon and colorful cereal. Good body and feel. Overall, it a sweeter pils, smooth, and very light.
