Half pour at BrickWest. Clear golden pour, small frothy white head. Grainy aroma, bready. Taste is biscuity, grainy. Very clean and crisp with just a kiss of bitterness at the finish.

Poured into a pilsner glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a one finger white head that dissipates to a thin, persistent cap. Aroma of pilsner malt, grassy hops, mixed grain, a touch of lemon and sulfur. Flavor follows with grainy pilsner malt, grassy hops, hat, mixed grain and mild citrus; good bitterness in the finish with residual husky grain. Medium bodied with light to medium creaminess. A satisfactory domestic take on the style that hits all the expected flavor notes. Malt depth is a little thin, but sufficient to support the continental tasting hops. Nothing really stands out, but no flaws; a good sipper.

draught
Long lived, moderate amount of creamy white head. Light golden straw look. Slight, floral and herbal hop aroma, over a light toast malt base. Starts off with a medicinal bitter taste, then a bright herbal and mineral like, hop note, which provides a little bite that sustains for awhile. then the light toast malt comes through.

Thanks to Woemad for this one. 12oz can (dated 8/20/20) poured into 14oz teku. Poured a bright, clean, clear light gold color with over an inch of bubbly white head that had decent retention and light lacing.

The aroma was typical for the style; nice grains with floral and grassy hops.

Same on the tongue. Just a solid and true-to-style flavor profile.

The body was the expected smooth and crisp, with a dry finish.

Drinkability was good, it would be easy enough to knock back a few of these.

Overall, a solid and enjoyable take on the style. Worth a shot if you see it.

a basic but solidly executed pils here, nice to see a lager happening so early in the game for these guys, overall they had a pretty extensive and diverse list of beers when i was in, nothing overly original, but not all the same stuff either. this is a very basic lager, yellow and bubbly more than anything else, some european character to the yeast but its quite subtle, the grain is crackery and clean throughout, with just a light honey note to it, mellow straw and hay, and some minerals underneath. i get very little hops on it, just a little pop of bitter on the swallow for balance, this is almost overly light, but it is crisp in texture, relatively tidy on the ferment, and easy to drink, with the intangibles like clarity and carbonation in place. did the world need another brewery to come along in spokane and make a basic pils like this? hard no, but its a fun space, and the more beer in the game the better as far as i am concerned. the execution of this is encouraging for such a new operation...

edit: years later this is still the same drink, credit to them i guess for that, but not really compelling to me, its there, its fine, but its not memorable or excellent, and despite being all over town now, its not a beer that makes me sing. good, but a ways away from great still...
