this is honestly excellent hazy beer, as good as any of the handful of beers i have had from these guys so far, and frankly able to compete with anything around as far as i am concerned. sure it pours a little thick and dense from the tap, past cloudy to milky, but the head is high, the freshness in the aroma through the roof, and thankfully nothing off about the ferment, which is a non starter for me in this style now. there is a ton of character to this, juicy but in an unconventional way, or rather its brought back in some but the more familiar northwest piney aspects of the hop profile, also hints of marshmallow and white sugar and tangerine though too, and so this is explicitly modern, but its not douchy either, if that rings a bell, like its not forcing anything, not belied with gimmicks, its just good ipa, and it drinks as such, not like some juice bomb, dry hoppy yeah, but well refined too. mango juice from a box in a foreign country comes to mind, papaya, orange flesh, its great, summery, and lighter than it looks by miles. great with a big meaty fried lunch, gut bomb food meets its hazy companion perhaps, this gives me new excitement for brick west, hopefully go there this week while i am in town!
